Discover Contemporary Textile Design – Workshop at RADADA Screen Printing Studio
At the RADADA Screen Printing Studio, students can discover how Latvia’s rich cultural heritage – from traditional ornaments and costume elements to patterns, symbols, myths, folktales, and landscapes – can inspire and shape contemporary clothing design.

At the beginning of the workshop, students are introduced to the RADADA brand, which since 2015 has been creating sustainable clothing and textile designs in Skrīveri using the hand screen-printing technique. In RADADA’s work, traditional patterns and symbols are given a fresh, contemporary breath, revealing how a creative approach can connect tradition with innovation.
During the workshop, students learn to see cultural heritage as something living, evolving, and present in today’s world. Through hands-on activity, they also acquire screen-printing skills and create their own unique design piece. This is not only an opportunity for creative self-expression but also a way to understand the printing process, the use of colour, and the basic principles of design creation.
The content and activities are adapted to the specific age group of the students.
